None of the newer trucks go 70. 68 is the max, and you'll only get that with very high fuel mileage. I'd count on 65 as a top speed.
Maverick plans your runs assuming a running speed of 48 mph. This gives you plenty of time to get where you need to go without rushing.
Decided on Maverick.

Pulling a 48K lbs. coil is alot different than pulling a box full of auto parts.....you won't be whipping in and out of traffic with a Maverick truck.

I understand what you mean, but trust me, put one of these behind ya and you will slow your roll. Plus, once you start seeing bonus checks rollong in each quarter for good mpgs, you will really start managing your rpms. View attachment 44415

No one wet answered my question about the mpg bonus and I can't find it anywhere else on here. Do they just cut you a check every quarter for .06 per mile you drove that quarter? Or how does that work. The recruiter tried to explain it but the way it was explained confused me more. I looked at the maverick PFP thread and that didn't help either.

With the new PFP system, your mileage bonus is paid for every mile you drive in the quarter after the data is collected. So, lets say that January - March, you do well enough to earn an extra .06 per mile.
That extra .06 is then paid for every mile you drive from April - June, it's added to your mileage pay just as if you had gotten a raise, paid on each paycheck.
On the new system, mileage isn't as big of a factor as it was before. The system is based on a total score of 100. Only 15 points of this 100 counts for mileage - if you get the best mileage possible, you'll earn 15 points.
The biggest factor in the new system? Miles driven per day - worth up to 50 points. Your average miles driven per day is measured against the average of the rest of your division's fleet.
Beyond that 65 points, there are lots of smaller things, like good DOT inspections, customer compliments, Out of Route mileage, no preventable accidents, on-time maintenance, engine idle time, and a few others.
You must have a score of at least 75 to get any kind of bonus. It starts at .01 per mile, and moves up the scale. You must have a score of 95 or above to get the full .06 per mile bonus.
You immediately lose your bonus eligibility for:
- Any single charge back in excess of $5,000 (meaning they are making you pay for it via payroll deduction)
- Severe customer complaints, such as being removed from a customer's property.
- Severe equipment abuse
- Any preventable lost time injury
- Any single safety violation that assigns more than 3 safety points (major violation)
- New drivers hired or graduating after the beginning of a quarter - you must have a full quarter of data to be eligible. -
So captain it don't matter if you get 6.5mpg (.01) and a 7.0mpg (.02), ect. I was sent a bunch of stuff in my email and showed the fuel bonus. So all you have to do is do all the other stuff right and have a average of 6.5mpg and you get a .06 bonus?
