I think Amerigas has driver facing cameras which makes them a no go in my books. Don’t think for a second they don’t watch you because they do. I like privacy picking my nose.

Honestly I’d say no to both. That wage is about $9-15 too low per hour.

I’d be really curious where your finding them jobs. I’ve been driving for 10 years with a fairly good record and the best I can find anywhere is $26-28 or so an hour starting out. I’ve even checked around Boston which is supposed to be some of the top paying in the nation and can’t find much better. You guys spouting off these high paying jobs need to start telling us whose so desperate for help they’re paying that kind of money.ducnut, DanOMac, Rugerfan and 1 other person Thank this.

Come to Portland. Fuel is paying $30-40 an hour. And chemicals are paying up up $46.25 an hour.

Lol I knew there was a catch. Portland no thank you.Speedy356, DanOMac and Rodeorowdy Thank this.

Im paid $36/hr with OT after 40 to haul fuel here in WY. The catch is the wind (doesn't push tankers much though) and if you're not into outdoor recreation you'll be bored in WY. Sounds like you want more pay with no trade offs, doesn't exist. "There are no solutions, only trade-offs."
Also, the hazmat market is now tight. If you dont have specific experience in tanker, i.e. like hauling fuel for fuel jobs, you will more than likely be turned down unless it's a small or less reputable company to cut your teeth. The market was way easier 2-3 years ago to get into. That said pilot flying J is still struggling to find guys around Cheyenne and top pay is $32.50/hr with OT after 40.Last edited: Feb 17, 2025

Howdy Whiteout,
Are you in Casper?
I LOVE Wyoming, lived up in the northwest corner for five years in the early 90s. Always wanted to move back, but once I started a family, I could not find a steady year round job to support a family of four.
I’m glad to hear there are jobs in Wyoming that pay high enough now.DanOMac Thanks this. -
Always is a catch. Can’t expect to make big money and live in the middle of nowhere.

I guess you’re right. Still, I like living in the middle of nowhere.
I actually honeymooned around Portland nearly 11 years ago. Great place then, not so much now from what I hear. Mt. Hood was nice.
