Be prepared to be viciously attacked by current
Walmart drivers for those statements.Bob Dobalina Thanks this. -
Got to take the good with the bad dawg. They not gone let you not work, pay cheap insurance, and be happy. This is trucking, lol! You're going to be raped SOMEWHERE and for you it's insurance lol.LoneCowboy and jtaran06 Thank this.

Congrats man! With spring approaching you’ll get all the OT you can handle. It’s a foot in the LTL world plus YRC is the most laid back place. It takes doing something really bad to get fired. Heard from a buddy at my old job one of the newer guys rolled a trailer falling asleep. He still has a job. It’s not YRC but it’s the same network. You might like it or move on but your foots in the door.TheyCallMeDave Thanks this.

welcome to the ltl world. we hired a guy from walmart a couple weeks ago. he had 19 years invested and said basically what i’ve read here. taking away the good stuff and pushing the old guys out. oh well, i think he’ll be happy here. it’ll take a couple years but he’ll get back to his $1900/wk income.
speedyk, Bob Dobalina and Radman Thank this. -
Thanks, now it' a about patience lol.

I doubt it. They are pretty universally disgruntled. The "good 'ol days" are over at Walmart. Don't get me wrong, the current drivers still make good money, but the vast majority work weekends and holidays and their pay is going to stagnate. They are fleeing in droves.Last edited: Mar 9, 2018

We do try, but even more important is the members of this community. It is all of you who report posts and bring things to our attention that might get missed otherwise.

Does anyone know how extensive YRC's background checks are for new hires? Do they just do a criminal background, and call your previous employers for verification, or do they do the whole 9 and check your high-school graduation date, require faxed documents from past employers, check CSA etc?
I'm just trying to figure out how long it might take because if it's going to be anything like FedEx, I'll need to run for the o/o that I mentioned for the time being to atleast get a little income flowing during this process. They had me fill out some detailed things about my high-school, the actual city I was born, my mother's maiden name and a few other things that I haven't had to fill out for any prospective employers.
Thanks
Dave
