I agree I am in charge of 18 drivers some are great and others do nothing but complain. They complain all the time about everything. I don't get the miles but yet I want to take 3-4 days off a week. So I either hear why am I not getting miles? Then when I get them miles I hear we have only been running for two days this week but I have things around the house to get done so can I take off the rest of the week? I don't care what you haul you will ways have whiners. You will always have those that want to take take take and not give. We have some that always want something but when you call them for a favor the answer is either no or doesn't answer the phone at all. I am a prankster so at Christmas they all got a Christmas bonus along with a two pack of foolers. I couldn't resist. I was a driver first before I started being a boss and I understand a drivers need. I look at how I wanted to be treated as a driver. I also now know what it's like running a small fleet. I meet in the middle. I treat the drivers well. They usually get home for at least two days every week. The drivers make $60,000+ and they drive decent equipment. They still complain. I have joked and said I was going to go get my child care license from the state before. It is amazing what they whine about and how they always worry about what everyone else is doing.

i had that same decision, i went for the columbia (hated it) and i am happy now

my first choice was a detroit classic, but i couldnt get my head around 5mpg

thats why when i hear guys with big noses getting good fuel mileage, i want to cry

but then again, i can drive as fast as i want (just did my 4th quarter IFTA 6.67mpg)
