Beats the hell out of me. I just applied to a bunch of companies that the Roadmaster lady did not mention, and a few she did. I applied online with Schneider and clicked the submit app button. I kid you not, literally 4 minutes later a Schneider rep called me and asked who I was enrolled with. I told him I had just gotten back from the school and had just talked to them and he said " well, if your information on your application checks out, I will definitely hire you." He sent a pre hire form to RM. Four other companies called and said the same thing. I think it has something to do with my background. It is squeaky clean. The Road Master rep called me a "bigfoot" ( She said that means they heard I am out there, they have just never seen me)???

Most applications have a place to check if you're a student. Fill out the applications & check student. Try Ozark and see what happens.

I am a recent graduate from Roadmasters in West Memphis. The advantage of attending a school is that they teach you the basic maneuvers, upshifting, and downshifting as well. The maneuvers that are needed to pass the course are straight-line backing, right turn, alley dock at either a 45 degree, which I had to to, or a 90 degree, and a backwards serpentine. The cones and barrels are set a certain distance apart from one another. Another advantage is that you test with the same instructors that you work with, sort of. No, you can't have the same instructor/examiner. It has to be either-or. However, you still interact with them. I would recommend attending Roadmasters. Ronnie (Picklehead) is a great instructor. And yes, getting pre-hires before attending is a good idea as well.

Some companies you apply to at the school, and some you do online. Sneider is an online company.

With the amount of success in some of the companies you hear about, it is unrealisitic to assume they are bad unless you are part of them.

But the worst thing is to read about a company you know that isn't true. I saw a post on another forum about a company which I was involved with, they have 10 trucks and all the original people who started with the company are still with them and very happy. It turned out that this is another example of them truck stop communications things, one driver was told how good the company is to their people and then he posted some bad things about it to stir the pot.
