Declare War on fog lights

If that were true,yes,but the problem is that most of these lights are not properly aimed so it does become an issue.

 

How do you know they're improperly aimed?? From the majority of what I've read and heard from other people, it doesn't matter if they are properly aimed or not...... People still whine about them.

 

Traditional fog lights are usually mounted under the front bumper about 10-24 inches from the ground. There are two important issues to address when installing fog lights, the first is to minimize the amount of return glare into the driver's eyes, and the other is to minimize glare into oncoming driver's eyes. Both must be accomplished while putting as much light as possible on the road. These fog/foul weather light aiming instructions are suggestions taken from common practice and the S.A.E. standard J583. Some modifications to these instructions may be necessary to minimize glare.
Visual aim is made with the top of the beam 4 inches below the lamp center at 25 feet with the lamp facing straight forward. (See below.)

 

Pretty simple.If they are shining up into my eyes instead of shining down on to the road like they should be,obviously they are improperly aimed.

 

NAH- that's RUDE.

But, a few years ago at a Flying J, some dummy parked directly across from me and left his grass-burning overpowered driving lights on. It blinded me in the sleeper with the window curtain drawn. So I went inside and bought a box of tinfoil. Wrapped up his driving lights like baked potatoes. In the morning, it looked like they were out- but were still wrapped up. I still hope it burned out the bulbs.
