OP, perhaps there's a spot on the HR/Benefits website for your company that allows you to model your paycheck to determine taxes & deductions.

If not, there's websites like this one: https://smartasset.com/taxes/income-taxes

That should help on a bi-monthly or yearly basis to help figure out your deductions & taxes.

    • Medical, Dental, IRA will be pre-tax deductions.
    • Roth IRA will be post-tax deductions.
    • FICA, local, state, federal taxes are post-tax deductions.
    • I'm not sure about other deductions as every company offers different ones such as CDL protector, Group Term Life Insurance, Critical Illness Insurance, Group Disability Coverage, Group Whole life, etc but it's possible that they are pre-tax deductions.

As for the whole per diem vs. not per diem for OTR drivers, do your respective companies give you a choice about which payment method you can choose?

If you were an older driver, wouldn't being NON-per diem make it appear as if you made more money for SSI determination? It might be the same reason why some banks would approve a non-per diem driver as opposed to the per diem driver.
