Watched a video about this guy, he built a cabin in Alaska and lived in it for 30 years. First winter, he had the cabin almost finished, had a fireplace. Built a fire, and while it was about some ungodly temp outside, he had a fire going, said,"My cabin is a toasty 40 degrees"

One man built our water access only log cabin in the '20s. I chinked it last summer for the first time since being built. Has wood stove, fireplace and oil stove. Wood stove is the most efficient to keep it warm.
