It doesnt take much. DEF is actually 67.5% water. Its not the water that causes the damage. Its the synthetic urea that is corrosive to traditional metals inside the fuel system. The products you mention help keep the water from being suspending in the fuel so that it can be removed through the water seporator. They dont actually "remove" the water magically.
