DEF Shortages

Flying J in Shuniah, Esso in Cochrane haven't had def at the pumps in a few weeks now.

 

Then that's by their choice, its not for lack of having DEF available to purchase, if they wanted to.

 

I think you may be right
There were stops 3-4 years ago that would be out of def.
maybe an order or shipping thing or just broken equipment or possibly a dirty def tank that needed help?
I ran 10 from Florida to California and 40 from California back across the country
Topped of the def at each fuel stop and has zero issues

 

Def in store sells for 3 times the price as at the pump .. all winter this flying j shuts off def pumps due to freezing I suspect they got out of the habit of checking bulk supply levels .

Yes, Rotella is basically non-existent. Chevron is thankfully still easy to get (just $$$$) but most other stuff is back ordered or not available.

 

Yes Hoss its the same a few hundred miles east of your base up in Canada here as rotella + mobil are very hard to find esp. 0w + 5w although can tire brand + oilmart chevron/amsoil are still out there pretty healthy mostly just 15w40 but come late summer or fall i see that turning into the current Rotella/Mobil situation avail. as the chemical additives to make the diesel engine oil whole coming from Chevron + Lubrisol have not been produced for months now + will not until sometime in 2023....there is a thread on the freightliner forum that goes into this in detail.

 

Funny how the vendors equipment was not fit to operate in our climate. Some fuel stops would go most the winter with the DEF pump out of order.
