The emission system are getting a lot better I would say. Today we know more about them and how to take care of them.
The DEF fluid filter needs to be change every couple years. We should clean the entire system about every 250,000 miles. They have this foam you pump into the engine and it cleans all the soot out and off all the sensors.
I bet not many people have seen the Dorothy. It cleans out the soot from the EGR system using a tornado action. No moving parts and it something the engine makers could not even think of doing. They says once you take to soot out, the engine is using a lot less DEF. It's still running the original emission system so it 100% legal.

It sounds good but is it proven that it helps? I guess it is too soon to see. Unfortunately, after Turbo 3000D bad reviews things like that are looked by many with quite some skepticism to put it mildly, myself included.
