is it ok to drive without the heater/defroster? They make a deal about it working for the DMV test, I wasn't sure if i have to stop till it's repaired or not.

Not sure about floor air but I know you are supposed to have a working defroster. (Air movement must be felt at the lower windshield area)

It is a violation.... Now if the air blows and you always drive where it is relatively warm... Then the dot likely won't wait for hot air will just check to see if it blows... I have never had a full inspection so not sure if it's really something they check.... Legally yes you have to have it....

Everything has to be in working order.Besides you need the defroster incase the window frosts up.Also make sure your mirror heaters work.

Drove last company 6 months and during that time the blower fan never worked. No defrost, no vent, no ac , gotta love oilfield companies. I can tell you, driving without defroster is murder and if it's not illegal it should be.

Hit freezing rain in South Dakota, had to pull over and let the defrost due its magic. If it wasn't working I would've been SOL! I got blinded seconds after it came down.

It took you 6 months to move?

I would have been out of there in a week.
