Go to the MO DMV website. They are specific about "Residential Address" for a permanent address requirement.

They also state that furthur documentation may be required such as utility bill, rental agreement, property tax receipt, pay stubs etc.

    Like I said, have a plan B.

I'm not even a resident and I had to get tax exempt waiver forms from the county, vehicle inspection and other documentation from Prime just to register my car with MO plates as a non state resident worker who's vehicle is parked and used in the state as a non business vehicle.

Income tax is based on state of residence.

Alot of people who work in alabama and georgia live in florida and do not pay state income tax.

As it is in most states. You will have to retake the hazmat and pay your homage to TSA. As it is in all states.

Correct. I am a resident of WA. My residency is established there and it is my home of permanent record on file with Prime's payroll. Not to mention my CDL is from there too.

Therefore, WA has no state income tax, and Prime does not with hold any state taxes from my pay.

Payroll complies with state tax with holding based on the company driver's address of permanent record.

I have a mailing address at Prime thru their mailbox rental... However, I do have a WA permanent address from which I file Federal Taxes, insurance, and CDL requirements to maintain my legal residency... Plus, if you want to claim any per diem on your Federal Taxes in excess of what Prime already returns to you, you have to have a physical residence.

Will someone tell me about this? One of my logistical problems is that I live alone, own a home that will remain my permanent address until it isn't. I do most of work online like bill paying, but I do receive some important snail mail from time to time. I was planning on renting a USPS post box, but I am afraid that being away from home for 2-3 months at a time will make me miss some paper bill or something else.

as long as you have a home address you can have a p.o.box anywhere in the usa. so since you/ll be traveling the states otr it would make sense to get a p.o.box at sprimo terminal because you know you'll be there more often then home to get your mail

Training, yeah you'll get thru Springfield quite a bit.

Not neccessarily after that as a solo. I've gone 3 and 4 month stretches without seeing the place... More often than not you will only get thru when you request it.

It's the last place you want to go for repairs... Sometimes a five day wait for an appointment. Depending on day of week and truck traffic in and out you might be in line behind 20 or more trucks waiting on a load to leave. Plus they seem to do a quicker and better job in Pittston or SLC.

Loads out of Springfield going south or south east right now are a PIA given the current bridge under repair on the most direct route between MO/IL/KY and the resulting detours around weight and truck restricted roads in Arkansas to get around it.

Lessee... in agreement with all here.

    - Must have a legit physical address for your CDL, TWIC and per diem claim on federal taxes.

    - I just recently renewed my CO license... watched as a number of people were told to go away over address issues. Yup, you must have something sent to your physical address in your name to verify residency when getting your CDL. Interestingly enough, they said my DOT med card would suffice... didn't have to prove anything to the doc except that I was warm and breathing!

    - State taxes are withheld for your legal state of residency... CO gets their share from me.
