I was install side windows on our Volvo toter.
During the installation the front seat belts were removed to assist removal of the interiors side panels.
Not thinking I let the seat belts fully retract.

Is there any way to get them to release ?

Did a few google searches but nothing we found has been any help.

Truck is a 1999 Volvo VNL610

Did you reinstall them yet?

If you're trying to pull the belt out without being installed, it's not going to work.

If they are installed, try pulling on the belt real hard and see if the locking mechanism unlocks.

If not, you may have to spend $400 a side for new ones or try a salvage yard, but most salvage yards won't sell you a seat belt assembly because of liability reasons.

Try calling a Semi Truck Body Shop or Volvo Stealership Body Shop and explain what you did, maybe they know a solution.

You may have made a $800 mistake since the seatbelts are fully retracted, which the internal pretensioners think the vehicle has been in a accident because of how much of the seat belt has been retracted inside the housing.

If that's the case, there's no way to unlock the seatbelt as you will be defeating the safety features built inside to protect the occupant in the advent of a collision.
