    I dont know if emissions is on a level one inspection. But I do know they didn't check it. When I got a random coming in on 40.

    I went online and did about 2 minutes worth of work , then it gave me a certificate to print out.

    That’s the first I’ve heard that.

    I run CA quite a bit in the summer and never have seen any of the carb folks.

    Only place ive seen them was I5 scales north of san diego. only saw them once have yet to see them again

    Here in MD, we have the MD Department of the Environment who has a “hazmat compliance unit” trained to do DOT inspections. Since they have no police powers they’re always accompanied by the MSP.

    Seems to me these CARB nitwits out there would have to do likewise for enforcement of their stupidity.

    They don't need to stop you, some LEO's have plate scanners, I would assume Carb does too. If you report all the miles you run when you get your IRP plate, you could be in trouble. The 5000 miles was a few years ago.If you do permit loads they will have a record of how many miles you ran in the state.
