yes call you POC and hope they know the right gate, has only been a problem for me in Colorado, head to the gate they tell you to and be a little early as the lines can be long, they will ask you for what they want to see and are polite most of the time, some times some younger guy thinks he has something to prove but what ever..
make sure your registration and insurance are up to date.. they will help you with directoins to where you are going..
it is a crap shoot if you will be inspected or not, just open everything they tell you to and let them do their thing and don't give them any grief over it they are just doing their job
i have never been asked for a TWIC card but it could happen

put on a turban fake long beard a towel on the head and when you get to the gate just keep repeating Jihad Jihad....60 percent of the time it works everytime
NWMAXI Thanks this. -
Find out beforehand where you enter the base; most seem to have only one or two where commercial vehicles can enter (and it may not be the most convenient one).
Been to Ft Benning several times, more recently all I had to do was show them d/l and my paperwork (that really didn't even have a FB delivery address but I did know the job-site I was headed to), I think they may have looked under/around the truck. To get into the weapons storage area you would have to relinquish cameras, cell phones, lighters, and I don't know what else (delivery was outside that gate)!
Got into Ft Stewart with a handgun! Forgot I had it with me, put it in the tool box a few miles up the road but when they asked I figured I better 'fes up (they had the X-ray truck there). More than a tad nervous but all that happened was they had the MP's run the serial number to see if it was clean (it was); took out the clip, put a zip-tie thru the empty gun (!), and asked me not to put it back together until I was off the base.
A few years back was supposed to go into Kings Bay, forgot again that I was carrying, they told me I couldn't enter with it (would have to go pawn it!). Missed that pick-up.
All bases seem to be a little different. They will probably size-you-up pretty quick and decide if you might be a "terrist" or if you're OK (kinda like the PO-PO). -
If going to JAX Naval, Enter gate 2. They will ask for DL and do a quick inspect of truck.
If going to Patrick AFB, they will inspect truck inside and out. They will have you open hood, run your dl, check paperwork, and will escort you to where you need to go. It may have changed since NASA stopped the shutle program, but I doubt it. It is a sensitive base.
Tampa Naval or AFB, tey just check your dl and tell you where to go. Pensacola, yeah, plan to get a good search there. They hold all the Hydrogen fuel for the NASA Space Center so they are really strict there. Plus a lot of SF training goes on there and they try to keep a lot of that info secret. -
I'm going to NSWC Panama City Beach. Naval Surface Warfare Center?! zoinks!
I found a link online for shipping/receiving. Yep, that's the address I'm going to, so that's a relief. S/R hours 630-1500, well that's good, I guess I can be early? Only saw info on the main gate so I'm guessing they just have the one.
This could go better than the time I was bobtail in San Antonio and almost ended up inside Ft. Sam Houston. whoops! -
You probably do NOT want the main gate, and often times if you have a contact number for someone on base, they may direct you in that way, or the closest gate to where they are. You ALWAYS want to specifically ask for the TRUCK GATE. Some bases do not allow you to come in early. Many have a tidal wave of trucks and contractors 1st thing in the morning.
As others have said, you want to have your driver's license, registration and Insurance card. Air Force bases seem to be fussier about the insurance. -
There should be no problem with you getting on the base, just as long as your record is clean and you talk to them kindly you will be alright. -
i would figure you need at least a TWIC card to get around all of the normal formalitys at least.

I ran the front gate while I was in the Air Force enlisted. 1 year Whiteman, AFB. (the Russian never crossed the Mississippi while I was on duty). The base at that time was a Minuteman Missile base. One of the most secure places in the world. We would stop and inspect every car coming into the base. Even if we knew the person. But let the Coke Cola truck come up and we waved it on.
Military folks will make your life easier if they can. Just don't park your truck, get out and run, screaming allahu akbar. They have no sense of humor.
