I think Stevens Transport still does urine test. Sometimes might pick some shady looking character out of class and give that person a hair follicle test.

Dang, that really sucks. I completely understand that companies have to be extra vigilant when it comes to drug use, especially trucking companies. Way too much risk for them, and I personally don't want to share the road with anyone driving a commercial truck while they're high or drunk. It was always my personal policy to never bring it to work, even when I worked for my mom's landscaping company when I was 19 and could've easily gotten away with it. I just feel it's disrespectful when I'm being paid to do a job to a certain standard. But at the same time it's unfortunate that honesty isn't held in higher regard. If Maverick let me take random drug tests for a year or more after being hired and took the cost out of my checks, I'd have done it. But alas, that's not how the world works. Hopefully my honesty doesn't continue to come back to bite me.

Thanks for the link, I'll check em out.

Nice quote, btw. I've got a Will Durant book on my shelf ;)

There's probably no record of it since you were just talking to a recruiter on the phone.
Don't mention it at all when you apply to other companies. You're starting fresh, so keep it that way.

I should've never trusted that singing cricket in a top hat. Only good bug is a dead bug, I say.

You got so nervous about being truthful that they punished you for it. No way it's on any record since you didn't even take a test. You're good to go. Just be quiet next time. Make sure your follicles are clean. Get a haircut now..
