I agree that it seems a lot of companies are merely hiring "warm bodies" now. On the other hand, how is one to get experience driving if no one will hire them? But, you're right in that they are hiring people that have NO business being in and 80,000 pound bomb. People with horrible driving records, very bad criminal backgrounds that shouldn't be around the general public to begin with, that sort of thing. But for others who really want to drive and their only problem is being new to it and having a bad credit history from bad luck, that's different.

As for selling people a car with bad credit, well we bought a used 2002 car, not a new one, we didn't even consider a new one because the payments would be too high, got it with an outrageous interest rate, but the payments, $260 a month, at the time were something we could afford no problem because hubby was bringing home around $550 to $600 a week. The place he was working for closed the terminal he worked at five miles from our home so he had to find another job. The place he's at now he's only bringing home around $250 to $300 a week average, so now we're hurting. We were trying to pay on the stuff on our credit as we could till he had to switch jobs, then we had NOTHING to pay them with. That's the story with a lot of people nowadays. They had decent jobs, but because of all these places going out of country now, or just closing shop, they lose their job that they've had for years and can't find another one that pays even half what they were making.

Anyway I've got to goor I'd finish this. Hubby finally got approved with Celadon and we've got to get him set up for orientation. And I've got to bring in wood for the wood stove for our heat. And a million other things going on suddenly.

    Blessings,

    T

To grow the fleet the comanies have continually reinvented their hiring criteria.About pre 1995 Mavericks first and last question was "What do you weigh? Are you absolutely positive?".Anybody who with a muscular body mass percentage was denied employment just like the overweight person. It was a height /weight comparison.Something like if say ones height is 6 feet,if there weight exceeded 205lbs,They should not bother to apply. Many got a bus ticket back to where they came from during orientation. The companies just want to miniumize their risk.I can see how the credit score is the new "tool in the box".Any medical issue always did send up the red flag.Business is unforgiving.
