More help and advise.
You CAN shorten your "training" time. If it a list of companies you need. Just ask. Start a new thread "Companies with short training periods" you'll get several.
At this point in time. I would say your expectations far exceed your abilities.
No doubt you have a need and a desire to do this job.
But nothing in your schooling has prepared you for the realities of this job.
I constantly make recommendations to dispatchers with regard to customer locations and the amount of experience a driver should have BEFORE being sent to that customer.
It's not about you. It's about your lack of skills.
You still need proper training. Nothing and I mean nothing can prepare you for the eventual hazards of this job.
And you'll still struggle for weeks if not months AFTER you get off a trainers truck.
DESPERATE!!!

I drove a 53' trailer on range for 5 to 6 hours straight with no breaks ,constantly operating the clutch over and over ;a lot more than if i was just holding the wheel for mile after mile.(a steering wheel holder).and my back and legs were feeling no pain what so ever.as if i did nothing.

Does anyone know of companies with short training periods and possibly flexible training.hiring out of florida area.(stuart, fort pierce, melbourne areas).
-
Does anyone trust crst to keep their word to get you home during training for a quick stop to fed ex to pick up my meds.
-
I suggested a company,
did you try comcar ????? -
Try Watkins and Shepard and Schneider. Both have relatively short training periods. Only question you'll need to ask. If they're hiring out of your area.pat246 Thanks this. -
That was absolutely nothing.
To spend that amount of time, (5-6 hours straight) you could NOT HAVE BEEN on the road. Do you think all roads are as smooth as the school yard, or maybe a local street or nearby highway are?
Wait till you get dispatched all over the country. There are roads out there that will send you into a tirade of pain and misery.
I do not believe anyone has called you a "dope feign", but rather are indeed trying to help you understand that the trucking industry is not all peaches and cream.
Many trucking companies say now, that they will take you as a driver. But that is the recruiting staff talking to you, not anyone of importance just yet.
You have a "pre-existing" health issue, whether you choose to believe this or not. If for any reason whatsoever, an employer decides to cut you loose, you will have to start all over again. The next employer's insurance company may deny you health coverage. Or at the most, you will be denied a job.
You want someone to tell you of a company that will get you home, in time, to pick up your meds and see you doctor. At first, there may be an employer that might try and get you home. But they certainly DO NOT HAVE TO.
I wish you well, but I see where you will not succeed much.GasHauler Thanks this. -
No back problems, until the end of the day.
Any pain you experience on a daily basis will only be magnified after a few days on the road.
I use anti inflammatory meds daily. And the only real relief I get comes on about my 3rd day at home.Gizmo_Man Thanks this. -

Only one person here really helped me here, danc694u.you know i been around truck driving since i was old enough to know what i truck is.i used to go with my father to fix his trucks.he had a fleet at one time.ya! I know things are diferent ,but i didn't know a driver who didn't have some sort of back pain.they all used to load trucks the old fashion way.all touch loads,it was in the fruit and produce markets in boston.evertything was done by hand no pallet jacks .i know i unloaded freight cars filled to the door and emptied by trhe end of the day.today even almost everyone i know has some kind od back pain even young bucks.so it is not uncommon to have this problem, some a lot worst the others.fortunately my pain is under control.fyi. Schedule 2 medication is allowed by dot and trucking companies.it is scedule 1 that is not accepted.they are medications that are real strong and make you real drowsy always.so i would appreciate a positive comment in the future,if possible.trucking must really make people mad.i remember in the past there was a lot of mad truckers they used to fight all the time.maybe that's why there is so much negativity in this room.yes, reality is reality, but i did alot of investigating before i stared this industry, except the training part that wasn't mentioned in another state.but i was interested in going loca anyhow not oth, unless necessary.i know ltl is hard to get that's why i am here asking questions. Thank you
