That’s good. A handshake is never enough.

Nice position. That should be enough to attract some decent drivers. Good luck.

Handshake is enough, or I don't want the guy.

Thanks, I appreciate it. That’s 10 cents and 250 more guaranteed per week then we are doing now. But, we were the first to go to what we did, now it’s time to go that much higher now that everyone has caught up. I hate having trucks sit but I also only hire professionals.

Good policy. A bad or irresponsible driver will cost far greater than a high paid, reliable and trustworthy person. I’d have a truck sit rather than tossing a coin as well, were it my operation.

My girlfriend works for a contractor. She and her friend have been on a dedicated run to Amarillo. They leave Thursday early afternoon and do two rounds, home by about 9am on Monday usually. They’re at 70 something a mile, and if the run to Amarillo isn’t there and they have to go someplace else they get 5 cents more a mile. She grosses just over $2k a week and the contractor she works for has open spots because of the rules Ground has and also the days off for most runs are during the week.

They come out of the Midwest and usually meet a team from Phoenix or sometimes Rialto. And sometimes they screw up and don’t send a team to meet them so they end up going to Phoenix or Rialto and getting paid as a wild team.
