hello everyone,
Had an accident about month ago when i was pulling up the truck. I damaged a bit a car standing next to me. It is my fault and done everything according to the law. My company charged 2500$ from me at that time. Now theyre going to charge for trailer (some bend on the trailer) taking into consideration that they have a shop. I asked why (they says cargo insurance - however i didnt have a load at that time and i couldn’t do any damage to the load inside of the trailer). I just wonder if is it ok?

LOL, Have you signed anything that makes you responsible for what you tear up?
Sounds fishy, I wish we could charge drivers for their screwups thoughMototom, Lepton1 and rabbiporkchop Thank this. -
are you a company driver or a 1099 driver..or a lease/purchase driver......???

Independent contractor agreement
-
then you might be screwed. you must have signed some papers, did you ever get copies of those papers?
if so, read them from top to bottom. if you did not get copies, ask the boss/owner...
you might want an attorney to look them over.rabbiporkchop, x1Heavy and Nauryz Thank this. -
Yes, i got it.
-
read thru them, and take them to an attorney, there might be some "legal words/terms" that you are not familiar with, that he/she can explain.
my personal opinion is that since they are charging you, then you signed an agreement for them to do so.rabbiporkchop, Phantom Trucker and x1Heavy Thank this. -
I am betting the fine print lets you know when to bend over, if that helps any. I just read a contract for a friend a few months ago, a guy would have to be some special kind of stupid to have signed that one.
Lepton1, rabbiporkchop, magoo68 and 2 others Thank this. -
1099? You're hosed.
Lepton1, HotH2o, rabbiporkchop and 3 others Thank this.
