Depends, sometimes you can get a load like this with no detention paid, but money for the load itself are so good, that you can even stay overnight to get it.
So what was deal with your load, how much $$$, where did it originate and where did it go to?

I would tell them to F off and find another load even if i need to deadhead a ways away... its the principle, to many of these guys think they can do what they want.

I tried to do that but again his response was that they dont pay detention. What i was fighting was that in the contract it didnt say anything about overnight. This load was during inspection you think i still can do the claim under there bond?

It wasnt a good rate. But it was getting pretty late so i booked it. Short run paid me 2.50 a mile leaving out of mayberry, FL to NC on june 7th

My biggest concern is that it seems. That they can do whatever but when we mess up even by a little we get screw big time.

    For example.
A few days ago i accepted a load. i say i would cover the load he sends me the rate con. hadnt sign it yet when i noticed the yellow light on my reefer i call him right away to tell him i had a reefer breakdown and that i couldnt cover the load. He completely losses it calling a joke and then puts a bad review on my company. And its bad right now im only able to work with brokers that know me because the once that im not set up with they look at the comment he left on there and they are like we cannot give you this load because you cancel a load...

Yeah they do. And this broker had a good rating. Dont know what happen but its bad in florida. I think not that long ago truckers were crossing highways to have their voices heard of how cheap the freight is over there
