Understand, but don't want to dump to,to much $ being a it's a 99 with 450,000 miles, and dont want to lose the efficiency also this truck is a start up truck after I start making some $ I'll look for another one. Probably keep this one also though.

So how much hp do you think I can throw at then by just flahing the ecm ???
-
Exactly what they told you. Much over that and you sacrifice efficiency and your fuel mileage suffers. If you want more power after that you have to change your turbo, cam, and put bigger injectors in it.
-
Got it.

Know of 3 right now. That was built in east Tn. Put in gliders and have been nothing but problems. Being there all 3 11.1 blocks. Without piston coolers. These engines were built to a 500 HP engine. Pulling 88000 most times..
All three of these trucks have issues. Where the other 5 built with later blocks 12.7's have no issues.
You can build a 12HP Briggs lawnmower motor to 40 HP. But its not going to last long. -
Yes but not a 11.1.

He said it's a 2000. That means that if it doesn't have piston coolers, the holes are there for them. If there's 3 of them built by the same shop having problems, I'd be looking at the shop. If a 12.7 can run at 750hp every day, and a 14L can run at 900+, theres no reason an 11.1 can't run 500-550.spyder7723 Thanks this.

Sounds like you have a good plan makes sense. Please update after upgrade. I’m looking to up my 12.7 a bit
-
Probably not going to happen till November. I'll try to get it turned up as much they recommend, like to go atleast 70 extra hp,without changing cam, injectors etc.
-
Yes I did see it was a 2000. But there was no 11.1 Detroit made in that year Truck. 11.1 Detroits ended with the year 1997. 12.7 yes but Detroit had dropped the 11.1 before then.
Shop happens to be Fitzgerald gliders the engines are in. And the blocks are the older 11.1's that did not have the holes for piston coolers.
