DETROIT 470/515 Can I incerease HP?

    I have an 07 freightliner Columbia. 470/515HP Detroit 60 series. I just switched jobs from freight to Containers and the loads are alot heavier now. I was wondering if I would be able to change the hp from 470 to 515? and how would I go about doing this?

    Go to a Freightliner or Detroit shop and they will plug in their laptop, punch a few buttons and then you will be set. Only takes about 15-20 min. but will charge you a one hour minimum most likely. If your trans. is not rated for the increase in torque, then they will most likely not do it.

    Get the numbers off the trans first to see if it is rated for the increase, then I would call around to see who could do it the cheapest.

    I did it on a 97 dump truck 430 12.7 went to 485 had a increase of .5 mpg with a RTLO 14608 and 4:56 gears
