detroit 60 series non egr 12.7 overhaul

    Know of a bunch of there glider Detroit's not last much longer then 400,000 miles. But then again they started using old blocks even the 11.1's. No piston coolers, and building them for 500+ HP.

    guess im another victim. geez. u go from def issues to chinese parts issue. i cannot win. honestly company driver is the way to go

    In fact - go buck wild on it - it’s one of the cheapest engines to rebuild, and even at 700k miles, would probably see you through 5-7 years running solo miles.

    Throw a Borg Warner turbo and a Full tilt manifold at it while you’re there.

    i have a borg now. the oil went into the turbo from the engine. im replacing it with a detroit diesel turbo from detroit. so is a borg a ok turbo?

    I threw a BW on mine last year - with the manifold it made a huge power difference. Wasn’t aware of any problems over the OEM turbo.

    Seem to remember there was issues with the Fitzgerald rebuilt 12.7 Detroit?
