Detroit 60 series regen problem

Hhmmm, I think I'll take a look at that tomorrow when I buy parts, would you recommend cleaning the DPF filter as well, I'm mechanically inclined and I know how those dealer vampire's look at usome I shall do it all in the parking lot of the truck stop.
Almost forgot, will they have to flash my truck to make the engine light go off, all you've said is truly appreciated and thank you so much .

 

what is wrong with your truck ? regen issues ?

 

Yes, I've regened twice and the regen light is still flashing and the check engine light is stuck on, I had a diagnostic performed in Wheatley Arkansas 200.00 off the top soot level maxed out so he said and he recommended that I change the injector valve/dose valve/ the thing that squirts the fuel to burn off the soot etc. and clean the DPF, I made it to Memphis and got unloaded without it derating.

 

if you have 500k + change the doser block. they usually go bad at 550-600 k. dpf must be cleaned if it is full of ash. the injector can be cleaned and reinstalled.

 

The injected is screwed in the dose block correct

 

no. screwed on exhaust pipe after turbo.

 

What would you recommend to clean that injector with

 

small metallic brash to remove carbon deposit from tip and acetone to clean it after.

Have same truck 08 Columbia 14 litr Detroit same thing I just felt with this is what happened to mine engine light regen light Sid 155 Sid 154 long expensive story short . Ready in side the cylinder head there is a fuel dampening tube it slows fuel and prevents air to provide steady even flo for injectors this tube from pressure or vibrations some how breaks into pieces inside hard to see but this will travel everywhere and screw every passage look for small black pieces in your filter or just search and check inside for this tube once u remove all of it and where ever it traveled it will run perfect it will be fine without it remember have tech check fuel dampening tube
