Oh yeah very familiar with toters/toterhomes, this truck is destined for that use one day.

What you're describing is used by some folks in driveaway services. The idea is that the personal vehicle rides on the flat bed which also acts as a 5th wheel to 5th wheel tow bar. I read an article about it a couple years back in one of the truck stop magazines. IIRC the inventor made the device after a hairy experience with a towed vehicle blowout. I can't recall the brand name and my google-## has failed me.

From the OP first post this is what he's asking about UNLESS he's talking about the one where there is a P/U on a trailer deal. The link is for what most of us call a 5th wheel towing bar and it hooks to the 5th wheel of the tractor being towed.

The other one is hooked between the two tractors and the driver takes his p/u with him on top and tows the trailer back to the shipper and gets another load. This saves him from paying air travel expenses and now having to get radiated or groped by TSA!

From what I gather from the OP, Cheap Weenie nailed it. These tow bar's with the piggy back ramp can also be towed by a pickup truck which I've seen done several times.

Well, I guess I'll make an edit here sense I didn't watch the vid at first added to my note that they show it hooked to the pick up. Ha. Fail for me.
