I posted this in another forum, but it may be more useful here as well.
If you have diabetes, or know someone who does, show them the link below.
I get a lot of stuff from a great friend of mine who does a lot of life coaching, personal development, etc of all sorts and I came across this on her Facebook page.
The page tells you about the DVD and on the side you can click to order it if you want, but at the bottom of the page is an embedded video where you can watch 1.5 hours of it for free and it's quite a trip. Even if you don't have diabetes check it out! It'll tell you a lot about the food we eat, and food we don't eat.

The 90 minutes is well spent if it means cutting back/eliminating the use of insulin and being healthy again.

The link was cropped somehow.
Let's see if this works better.

Thank you both. I corrected it in the main post.
If you take the time to watch the video please let me know your thoughts. -
Wow.
Dangerous stuff.
There are three types of diabetes, Type 1, Type 2, and insipidus.
Of the three, there is a possibility that some people with type 2 "could" be relatively well controlled by diet. But the reality is that its caused by bad lifestyle choices in the first place. Diabetes does not exist in primitive "rice and vegetable" cultures.
Diabetes per se cannot be cured. For a type 1 to stop taking insulin is a death sentence. They would last a few days, thats all.
That is a highly irresponsible marketing video. I'l wait with interest for the legal actions to start once diabetics start becoming brain damaged and dying as a result of this "advice".Roadmedic Thanks this. -
Type 1 can be cured. However, not on everyone that is type 1. I have a very close friend who, after years of being stupid with his health, got diabetes, was in the hospital, lost over half his bodyweight, lost his eyesight, and is on dialysis 3 times a week. However, about 2 years ago, he was having problems, and his Dr. noted that his body had started to make insulin again. 3 months into realizing that, my friend never had to take another insulin shot. It's been around 2 years now.
So, although there isn't an actual cure for diabetes, it can end up being cured. Or, if you prefer, we can just say that it went into remission. -
From your description, your friend had Type 2, not Type 1.
Type 1 is also known as 'juvenile onset diabetes', it strikes often in teens and 20s, and the pancreas just fails to work anymore.
Its common for Type 2s to resort to insulin when their sugar control is bad. But it isn't the same as true insulin-dependant diabetes. Its simply that their dietary choices are so crap that no amount of tablets can counteract the damage they are doing.
Telling people that their diabetes can be cured, or "go into remission" is downright dangerous.

Ahhhhh, okie doke. The Dr. never explained that to my friend, and I'll be the first to say I've never looked it up to find out the causes behind him not needing the needle anymore. Thanks for the info. -
I try not to pick sides personally. If I find something that seems to work I share it with others with the suggestion to contact the people involved and see what their results are; both short term and long term.
If you're a licensed doctor and would like to speak with the patients that were involved, you may very well be given the privilege. In the video's case they are demonstrating a couple of the people eliminated their use of insulin, and fallowed up with them a while after the program, and those who were still on insulin had greatly reduced their dependency.
The "doctor" in the video details briefly his previous history in the medical industry and how long he has been doing this so it would be worth getting his full credentials.
We don't need to act all high and mighty that we know all there is, and that what we are taught is 100% correct (which it's not due to many revisions as time moves forward).
We just need to take what we see, look at it at face value, not blindly accept it nor blindly criticize it, and investigate further. The 1.5 hour long video shown is the shorter version of the actual video which likely goes into more detail with better references and contact information.
If anyone is interested whether they are a patient, a critic, or someone who just wants to learn the option is there to explore further.
Me personally, I don't blindly accept or criticize modern medicine anymore than I do natural/raw/holistic/spiritual/etc medicine. We all get our health from many sources. -
I watched a special on nbc dateline i believe. That surgery cure 89% of people. Further studies are concluding the reason this happens is because short intenstine is cut and sealed. In Lab testing mice with diabetes were cured with small intestine being shut off. So who knows thinking about having that surgery for that reason alone.
