Probably too late, and I didn't read through the replies, so here goes....
I went through the same thing with my DOT physical. Urine test showed 300 and my physical was put on hold. I went and had a blood glucose test done and it came back wit a perfect reading. I gave the results to the DOT Doc and he signed off on it. Fact is those test strips are not reliable and in the future I'll get a blood test prior to renewing my card.
If your reading is accurate, your primary doctor can take care of you so you'll be able to get the card..

That reading from blood should be 100 for blood sugar normally. Without it and a low reading you go into a Coma.

My father has type 2 and I fear getting it myself, I don't exactly know the mechanics, but it appears you must eat solid meals several times a day and hydrate without fail.

I don't know about you but have you priced steak and eggs with trimmings for breakfast in the morning? It's like 20 dollars... ugh.

My blood test came back at 81 which is absolutely perfect. I did fast for the test but it's not necessary since they have two ways to test blood. If you don't have diabetes just eat normal and stay away from junk food as we all should do anyway.
Type 1 is mostly in younger people and most adults with it have type 2. I will tell you and anyone else reading this. If you ever get diabetes you had better take it very seriously as it will suck the life from you if you don't.

This misconception that if your blood sugar being over a certain amount that you should be dead or in a coma is nonsense. My mother was diagnosed 30 years ago with an a1c of 13.8 and a fasting blood sugar of 497. I was diagnosed 2 and a half years ago with an a1c of 9.5 and a resting of 299. I'm on metformin and occasionally the dr pits me on invokana. I can attest to invokana, that #### works great. It worked by preventing your body from using sugar and puts it out through your urine. The problem is if you don't increase your water intake, invokana causes issues with your kidneys.

I hate things that suck the life out of you. I need to fight with applied violence with whatever the enemy may be. I prefer not to have to fight and enjoy life.

How does my previous post communicate anything about low blood sugar?

That's because everyone so far is gone nuts over someone's Bs being over 300 or so that they should be dead. Nothing in that sentence translates to your blood sugar should be as low as possible. Anyone who's actually communicated with their personal physician, an endocrinologist, or a diabetes specialise will know that everyone's blood sugar needs are different
