lol...the one time...and I mean one time...that I had to sit was in Laredo...learned a big lesson about setting PTA...that is where you can kill yourself...by not understanding how eta and pta work. But I figure there are lessons to be learned this first year and that has been one that has slowed me down occasionally....I now have it figured out....

yeah around 2100 miles a week...do the math u start off a .26cpm and make it up to .33cpm...it doesn't add up to much. They never really hassled me hard about my logs but allways wanted them scanned in all the time and the terminals which usually suck at scanning and never give u a conf number or paper. Long story short i tried their flatbed division , i liked it but it wasnt worth being #### on for less than minimum wage when u add up the hours worked for such a huge personal sacrifice.
I know alot about personal sacrifice and alot about working long hours. before i did this job.

Why don't you like van division? Even if they paid 80 cents a mile....flat bed still wouldn't be worth it.

Van division isn't worth the stress....I got tired of being treated like a child all the time. Not to mention the ridiculous appointment times and the expectation you can switch your sleep schedule at the drop of a hat. We operate like a much smaller company. Flatbeds not for everyone, but neither is van truth be told. The week I spent on van while in the shop was the longest week I had in a long time. It was relaxing to get back on a skateboard.

sorry to hear you're leaving schmud, not surprised since you mentioned a couple times over the course of this thread that you considered quitting. Surprised to see you leaving trucking altogether though.

Good luck Schmud. I hope you will not be leaving trucking all together as there are good companies out there. I know a few that I could recommend if you are interested.
