I'm just glad someone cares enough to keep it rolling....their isnt much i can contribute to my own thread anymore....lol.
Hey i did drive a new truck out the terminal to 83rd ave and back. The new cascadias drive real nice and quite! -
Any idea how many of the new Cascadias are configured for flatbedding? Was told in class today (I'm in my 2nd week of the academy @ Phoenix) that the flatbed division was getting a bunch of new trucks.

Fo sho. I will update when I get unique loads and not repeats you've already done. Oh and when I finally get it sparkling of course. lol. I've talked to a few guys on the rebar dedicated and they seem to like those trucks. How come they get brand new equipment to go with them? Seems like swapping from the old truck would be easier.

Quick question to anyone who may have an answer. Looking to start my trucking with Swift. Would love to pull flatbeds. Was thinking I would go otr but found out literally 4hrs ago gf is prego 8test and all say positive... So I was hoping to go regional I live in Houston(would love to move to Dallas) what would my chances be to get to drive regional? And if I could would I be able to pull flats? And is the training still otr for the 240? Really bummed about not getting to run the 48s. But gonna get married soon with the new kid and was told I could only start trucking if I am not gone 6-8weeks at a time. Thanks for reading sorry not so quick. Stay safe guys and gals.

There is a dedicated Home Depot that is local out of the Dallas area that was looking for flatbed drivers 2 weeks ago. Daycab use only from what I read so home every day.Tcc_timbo Thanks this. -
Got the answer to my own question today when I spotted several brand new Cascadias configured for flatbed on the new truck line at the Swift terminal in Phoenix.
-
sorry didnt know what you meant by configured, yeah extended frame, 202" I think, those don't have equipment boxes, steps, etc on them though yet obviously.

Compared to another Cascadia that will be use to in the van division the flatbed trucks have a longer wheelbase and a smaller (60" vs 72") sleeper. The truck I photographed is in line waiting for it's Qualcom and equipment installation. If I can catch one after the headache rack is installed I'll take another photograph and post it here.
