No, I will stay, I don't need pointers from a "student"
-
It shouldn't matter at all whether she said she was in safety or not, you did not respect her opinion on the 50 mile, 150 mile or 3 hour post. Also it doesn't matter to most of us that you might be a minority, we are a brotherhood, not only on this forum, but on the road as well. With a little more respect to "that brotherhood" you might find more tolerance extended towards you and also get pointers from "all" drivers, not just those that are, as you say, minorities.
I wish you well as you continue to learn. -
Which, of course is why I am and will always be a student.

Nice theory, we want world peace as well, but in reality......rednecks extending a hand of friendship doesn't work at the truck stop.
I will help those when they need it, but I will defend myself as needed. -
I guess I can't ask for more than that. I offer help when I can, I don't know much about securing a load on a F/B, but I have helped lift and pull tarps when I see a driver needs help. It surprises them since I am a door slammer.
I do hope the need for defending yourself diminishes as time rolls on. -
Wise as always inkeper. Kirk, I hope you will learn to have an open mind. For every one person against you, you will push away five more with an open hand willing to help.
We are a brother (and sister) -hood out here. The one thing you'll hopefully learn to see that if we don't support each other, we have nothing in the end. I've helped other Swift flatbed drivers, TMC, Maverick, Melton, and many a van driver on the road. As a female flatbedder, I *AM* a minority, and take a lot of flack for it at times. But you can't let that jade you, and more than that your defensive knee-jerk reaction makes people automatically dismiss you. For all the flack I've caught on the road as female flatbedder, I've met ten times as many great people out there on the highways.
Welcome to the forums. Stay a while, make some friends, maybe even learn a little bit (and don't discount the "students" out there .... what many of them lack in trucking experience on the road, they often can teach you more about other things in life). Realize we're not all out to get you. And I'll see you on the road one of these days - I'm coming back to the fleet next month.inkeper, snowman01, Travelinman and 1 other person Thank this. -
I salute ya'll flatbed haulers because ain't no way I would be contented hauling sometings I be seeing on them flatbeds
-
You bet i hand out the used ones first. But they are completely repaired before I hand them out.
If you took the the time to pad the product you are hauling you wouldn't need new tarps every couple weeks like most drivers and I wouldn't have to wast 1600 dollars a week in tarp repairs.

Schmudski dude! LTNS. How's life behind the, um, Iron Curtain Of Silence?
