you get more miles in flatbed, longer runs im on a 2100 mile run right now and have a preplan i just commited on that is 1292 miles we hardly ever get a short run our short run is from south carolina to indiana
In all honesty the flatbed division is a pretty tight knit group from what i've seen we all help each other out, securing loads, tarpin in such specially at laredo, we BBQ together, truck pool to the buffets together and give van drivers S$%t together...i enjoy it, it has its down falls like any other division in trucking but when i am running i quite enjoy it.
I allways like the off the wall runs they are the best, i have only been on my own since febuary and i have been through every state except maine, vermont, florida north dakota, rhode island

    #### schmud! What are you making per mile? Sounds like your doing good on miles there, I wish you luck on keeping that truck up and running so them wheels turn and you make that money.

So you think because I am from Chicago I have a good chance of hiring on and getting good hometime.

Your in a great freight lane being from Chi town. No matter what you pull you will load and unload at some point in chicagoland area. When I drove a reefer I loaded and unloaded so many times in bolingbrook right off 55. Thats an awesome spot for me because its about 10 minutes from where I use to live.

starting to get the swift weenie, 4 weekends in a row sitting. sat all last weekend in phoenix, grabbed a load 2 days ago ran it to houston, had a preplan to go to michigan took it off of me and tried to get me to pick up a load today and deliver it on monday in laredo at a broker. 300 miles for the weekend, srew that.
EVERYTIME I COME TO TEXAS I GET SCREWED. Anyhow im about tired of sitting around because of fals safety holds, and incompetent planners, im starting to look for a local job in phoenix or las vegas.
