Diary of a current Swift flatbed driver

Hey USARMC, I am actually on a bus heading for the academy now (PHX). I received the full ride scholarship for my service. I am going to ask about the best way to get into flat bedding and whats the preffered areas they hire from. If you haven't decided by Monday or Tuesday I'll let you know what I hear.

 

I finally got my gi bill paperwork in so i just went to a local school. Im in it now, were driving a big xl classic freightliner with a full 53' box trailer. Figured we'd have a little day cab and pup trailer but this is better. I've gotten a pre-hire from maverick and tmc. So I'll probly go with tmc at least for the 18 months to get my gi bill money back.

Where you been, schmud? Still trucking? Or did you get smart?

 

I am going to be in oreintation on monday and I am interested in flats. Will be running out of Edwardsville.

 

Only flatbed terminals are Phoenix, Gary, and Greer.

 

I know but can i switch term after mentor ride?

 

Onc, the only terminals you can be out of now is Gary and phx. The term ur based out of won't affect ur hometime or anything of that nature, it's just where ur dm and fleet manager are at.
