Could you quote it? I say a great deal of stuff. LOL # myself. And I'm old so I forget almost all of it.

Well, I looked back and I found this post:

Is this the post you're speaking of and is the red highlighted portion what you're asking about? If so: well I'm not sure what to explain. I was explaining what fleets are and how each fleet differs. Because of the differences the experiences will also differ. It's a bit like two kids going to the same school and being in the same grade but different classes. Their experiences will be different.

    Nana,

Yeah that's the one...was just curious if it has any advantages living here in Phoenix and working out of this terminal?...I'm starting school with Swift on 10/29/10,and my wife is very concerned about the whole otr thing, but a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do...enjoy your post's btw

I am not Nana and don't know if this is what she was referring to or not but I will give it a shot. You will have different freight lanes coming out of Phoenix as opposed to someone based out of the Columbus terminal or the Ocala terminal or the Denver terminal. They will have different places they run and different fleet managers, thus having different experiences. Nana, please feel free to correct me if I missed the target by a mile! :)

    Hope this helps Michelinman!
    Be safe out there!

Hi Texas-Nana. I love reading all your comments! I have a quick question I wanted to PM you instead of asking you in a thread but I need to have 7 posts do do that...I am a recent graduate (11/5/10) and I got my Class A CDL last Wednesday (11/17/10). My husband is going to go to Edwardsville, Kansas Swift for training on December 6th. He will do Mon-Wed orientation and Thursday and Friday are the classes for him to become a Mentor. I start orientation the next Monday (December 13th)-Wednesday and then he is my Mentor starting Thursday. Does this sound right to you? I know you team with your husband for Swift and just wondered if this sounds right to you? Do you and your husband get a lot of miles? I can't wait to get started. Also, I read where if you are a recent graduate you don't need to do the road test. Is this true as well? And is there no kind of physical test? Will my DOT physical I had for school be O.K? It's good until 8/30/2012. Thank you so much for reading this and I hope you will send an answer back. Have a great night and the two of you be safe! Tracey

I am in my second week of school here in Millington, TN and am having a good time. We will have the driving range all to ourselves tomorrow. We are scheduled to go to the Greer terminal on Sunday to meet up with our road trainer on Monday. I can't wait to leave here and get in a truck on the highway and pop some gears.

To everyone thinking about attending the Swift Driving Academy, I highly recommend it. I have had a positive experience thus far. All the training is up front and so far we have only had 2 guys to a truck except for last Saturday when we had 4 per truck.

I'll post again next week and update on the road training.

I'm in Greer and went out with the road trainer today. Boy it has been a long time since I had to double clutch. It's harder to downshift than I remember. So far, so good. I am scheduled to take my CDL pre-trip, skills and road test Thursday. I hope I do well enough to get my license the first shot. I'm scheduled to begin orientation on this coming Monday. I'll post again on Thursday if I can remember. If I get my CDL, I'll be hauling ### to the house to see the wife and kids and might not stop long enough to post, but I will try my best.
