I love how everyone is hung ho about getting off the mentors truck. Myself, I have maybe 20 hours to go, on home time as we both wanna watch the superbowl and be able to drink. My mentor is great but I'm semi apprehensive about being on my own, all decisions are mine, and all responsibilities are mine then. My mentor is confident I will be fine and be making my way to diamond in no time, but I still worry a little. I know I am good at this driving thing, he'll we we're basically teaming after 40 hours with him having naps as he was that confident, and he has given me all the tips and tricks he knows of to be aggressive in getting loads, miles and more mOney

Shardrk and hellomcflywakeup Thank this. -
Ms. Giggles, you must be really bored if you're teasing new guys who just want to tell other newer guys what their training and experience is like. I would have been happy to have this information because I had no idea what it would be like.
As you know, from being out here for 21 years, there is far more to this truckin thing than how fast the truck is allowed to go.Rattlebunny Thanks this. -
I find it convenient, don't have to worry about speeding, getting an overspeed etc
-
Think again Gambino. You CAN speed in lots of places, and you can most certainly get an overspeed if you are not paying attention. Because you find it convenient and you are not worrying about it worries me. That is the first step to being complacent and that leads to dangerous.scottied67 Thanks this. -
Down a hill yes, but you drive different when heavy to when light, adjust to all situations, but just general driving on interstates where it's borIng (I'm looking at you Texas....) it's great

But, a wise instructor told me a little fear keeps you alert.
It's the complacent drivers that have wrecks and problems.
Keep it between the lines and you should do fine.
