AHA!! Now I know why Blue agreed to train you so quickly. Now he gets an APU!

    Ulterior motives, yeah, Blue?

Oh Gold Miner took a detour onto Loveland Pass because he had a 14' trailer and made it all the way without scaring me once. I have to admit I was nervous but he did fine and I must have been crazy !!!:biggrin_2552: First time I have been that a way in 20 years in a big truck.

Thanks to all the wanna/new bees on this thread. I passed all my tests, CDL, HazMat, doubles, tanker, etc., so I have my permit. I also passed my DOT physical and my finger prints have cleared. I will be attending driving school the first week of March. No problems on driving record, just one red light 4 years ago and nothing more for past 7+ years, so I should be good to go.
Keep up the posts here. I read here almost every day and I am anxious to hear of your progress, likes and dislikes, etc. Thanks for taking the time.

Because it seems to be the thing, I'll toss out my own experiences in here...

Me and 9 other guys are currently attending Orientation in Denver... Started witrh 13, but 1 was "experienced" and went missing today during the logbook class, one did medical marijuana (no clue how he got as far as he did), and one I have no clue about but he was expressing a love of local. Last day of orientation is tomorrow. I'm quite concerned about my ability to get a driver's code. In my paperwork there wasn't the background check there was on the other guys who seemed to have similar issues as mine, one of whom was charged once when he was a kid with a serious crime, and one who had been unemployed greater than 2 years. I told the recruiter every detail, but if I didn't have that paperwork in the file, I am concerned that maybe it wasn't passed on. It'd suck to get this far and have to go home on my own dime. I'm already running on fumes for funds, and the initial weeks until I get a first paycheck are going to hurt bad as it is, though I think I'll be in the survivable range. I went through the USTDS from Midway Colorado for my education, but I've been hanging out with these two guys who went through the Swift Acadamy. Quite a few differences in how the schools are run. I hope that if I do get on with swift I end up with someone who frequents here tomorrow, as that makes it more likely that I will get someone who actually cares. I'm encouraging two other of the guys to pop on here too. One calls himself Sheriff, a name he picked up at the Swift Acadamy appearently. The other hasn't registered yet. It'll be interesting if I can get both on here to show how things are different from the points of view of three guys who all went to orientation at the same time. At this time we all are pretty solidly sold on the merits of Swift and are convinced it's a pretty good company to be with. The other 2 guys both are indentured Servants, I'm a free man thanks to ole' uncle sam and his love of veterans ;)

(Edit: We actiually had 2 that were experienced, I am just not counting one of the claims because his experience consists of doing a little training with a mentor and then stopping with CR England. Who knows though, maybe Swift does consider him experienced.)
