Dump a bag of sugar on top of his fuel tank, then he'll wonder; "did he dump it inside or just on top?"
You made the right decision though; congrats on handling it without throat punching him.
Did I do the right or wrong thing?

Situations like that are why I keep extra padlocks in the truck. I'll just make sure your load is extra secure by adding a lock or two. In the end you might have delayed me a few minutes in the fuel island... It'll take you more than a few to cut a lock you don't have a key for.
Padlocks- 50 bucks for a pack of 10 on Amazon. Returning the favor to an idiot driver- priceless.Canned Spam, BostonTanker, drvrtech77 and 4 others Thank this. -
That MIGHT add 30 seconds onto my time at my next shipper or receiver. I carry a few of what I like to call "master keys" that would make short work out of any padlock you're buying for $5/ea.Keep'em 18roll;ng and macmoran Thank this.

You missed the point. If you plan on inconviencing me by parking like an ###### I'll do whatever I can (short of setting myself up for arrest) to return the favor. And if you can get through one of my padlocks in 30 seconds without an angle grinder more power to you.

I do the same thing. I only do it in extreme cases but I figure if they take some of my time it's only fair to take some of theirs.drvrtech77, Keep'em 18roll;ng, DrivingLikeMad and 1 other person Thank this.

Because some shippers use seals that are pins about the size of my pinky finger I carried with me (and still have by the way) a pair of bolt cutters. Don't get me wrong here because I tried to be on my best behaver when around other drivers. I don't think it is right to mess with another drivers rig. In fact it is one of the best ways to find yourself on the business end of a tire thumper or worse yet a firearm. I know there are a lot of idiot steering wheel holders out there but doing harm to another drivers rig in some cases can backfire on you.

First come first serve. If FedEx cant wait in their vehicle, that is their headache. Not yours. You have a job to do and FedEx is screwing around. Dont look back driver.
Keep'em 18roll;ng Thanks this. -
I once had a Master padlock with a cast iron casing around it . You could not have used bolt cutters on it. It began to not want to unlock, so I quit using it. I did think about keeping it to use on a "special "occasion. Like someone who parks where they jam everyone up.
But I never did it. I guess I'm too nice.
I did know a guy that carried an ice pick. He said he'd stick through a tire sidewall of someone who blocked him in. -
I had my old Swift issued Enforcer padlock when I left them... That one wouldn't come off without an angle grinder. I know that because eventually I DID have to have it removed... from my own trailer when it seized up after 6 years of use. But I wouldn't waste an $85 lock to prove a point when a $5 one would do.
As far as the ice pick idea... I wouldn't recommend it. Truck tires don't deflate slow, they blow up. There's surveillance video floating around the internet (I'm sure someone here will find it) of some idiot taking a knife to the sidewall of a truck tire. Said idiot was blown back about 10 feet and crawled away bleeding badly. That's a line I won't cross. Not just because I don't want to get messed up by an exploding tire, I just won't do anything that's gonna get me locked up. Not worth the legal fees or the jail time...Lepton1, Lone Ranger 13 and Keep'em 18roll;ng Thank this. -
Messing with someone's truck is wrong. No matter what they did. If I catch someone messing with my truck I will get it on video and call the police. You can explain to them why you thought it was justified.
DsquareD, Keep'em 18roll;ng and lovesthedrive Thank this.
