BS, just like I said. You are totally misreading those rules. Your comments in this thread are so ridiculous they are borderline non sequitur.

The dirty little secret is most don't pull CSA-2010 records because this data is already part of information gleaned from other sources. DAC, MVR, Insurance company investigations, Drug testing results requests and employment verification of reasons for leaving.

Yep. I did have a driver we hired that a pretty major accident got by everyone by not pulling psp though. Found out about later on after he left us thru the grapevine and then researched it and confirmed.

This really should not have happened. I'm very surprised the Insurance company did not flag this driver. Even a self insured carrier has to hire an Insurance company to administer it. Safety really dropped the ball.

The thing is even the psp doesn't show how serious it was. You have to really dig in to find it. Won't go in to detail to protect the drivers identity. We still communicate and it can be found but it takes a bit of digging.

oh and i am not surprised. The bigger a corporation gets the easier it is for processes to break down.

I almost decided to accept a Job with a large carrier's safety dept. I decided with my having Epilepsy and not being able to hold even a regular drivers license it was best to not go do that job because doing safety check rides was part of the job description. To this end I have a lot of contacts in safety dept's all across the country. Almost to a person they tell me they err to the side of caution. What I mean is they will not authorize a hire until their comfortable. Safety has only one function in a carrier. They are NOT a drivers friend and they are not a drivers confidant. They are also not a drivers enemy to be feared. They have the responsibility to protect that carriers operating authority. Lose this and everybody goes home. I'm old school when it comes to Trucking. I have little patience with steering wheel holders and I hate it that drivers won't bath and refuse to dress in a professional way. I don't want bong smokers or drivers that don't respect the size and weight they are hauling around. Pay the drivers what they are worth and keep the trash OUT!

And that's the problem as well as the answer to the problem.
