You got them slacks on more axles than just the front?

Dunno how they found their way to my truck then lol.

I still have all my tools from when I was a commercial electrician.
I'd tell guys if you want to do a professional job, get professional tools.
If you want it to look like a handy man did it, get cheap tools.

So all that pride I have for getting the job done with inadequate tools, is unfounded ??? We’re talking a lifetime here!!! I once told my Dad “ everything you ever gave me was broken “. He said “ cause I knew you could fix it “. When I bought my first Truck, I asked him where I could find a good mechanic ? He said “ I always thought you were a good Mechanic “.Lol. I enjoy buying a new tool for the job, save some money on Labor, and got a new tool. What’s not to love about that? I’ve used that ratchet and locking tool once. It’s nice, no doubt, but I’m too cheap. And don’t tell Me you ain’t one of them high class Truckdrivers. I heard about all that money you’ve been making. In fact if I were your Driver, I’d ask for a raise!!! Lol

You should have been issued a manual truck that has no automatic slack adjusters, Just a pair of 1/2 inch or 9/16th inch closed and open ended wrenches. So when your brakes go out a little bit you pull over and tighten them up and be on your way. It's literally a ring around a nut, and tighten and done.

Today's automatic slack adjusters use the tools that Dave showed in his picture, plus 7 hard to the floor applications in the cab. And they are adjusted. More or less.

As far as the certificate, you are not allowed to adjust your own brakes without same. You need a road service mechanic to come out to the scales and adjust your out of adjustment brakes which is just BS anyway.

Might as well throw away the appt based delivery matrix and just wait for the load to get there when it gets there. Sometime.

First time I adjusted mine, I had half of them backed off. Lol Took a few minutes to figure out how it worked. The first Bobtail test drive was scary though, luckily no injuries. I like the automatic slacks, but still could live without anti- lock, I don’t care how many studies show what. Dry pavement, they can keep you from stopping as well as the old ones. I’ve had to stand on them a few times. Don’t like that.
