i have seen truckers make u-turns so many times, it just ain't funny or unusual anymore. whether he be an o/o or a company driver, he still had a wreck, and a major one at that. i would rather wonder if he got any ticket(s) and what they could have been for. also, if there are/were any traffic camera's at that intersection, would the lawyer for the girl be smart enough to request those......
if he was a company driver, he's in hit water for sure, up to and including firing for a major PREVENTABLE wreck. if he was an o/o, he's in hot water as HE has to do all the paper work, contact the insurance, call hie lawyer, etc,etc....then get hit with i would imagine insurance premium hikes, and maybe even a probationary period.
yep, dumbarse things some truckers do, when they are running late, going the wrong way, whatever. experienced or not.......because even highly experienced drivers screw up....
Did I really just see that?

Maybe he wasn't aware that it is legal to do so. Also at most companies that's a fireable offense. Lucky he didn't get caught or get in an accident.
Big Don Thanks this. -

like the other day going too work, there was a side hopper trl-tractor wrong side of street being loaded , all he had on was the 4 ways , you woulda think they woulda posted men working signs up ahead or something, i cringe every time i think of that , becuse although he was in a 3o mph zone and on the flat part of steet, before him about 1200 was a grade up and you could not see him, i was just waiting too hear on scanner about head on hit there, but every time i do this, i say to myself and if in a strange town, ill say dang it i missed my turn, my next thing of thinking is ill keep going till i find a shipper or rec too turn around in and if none ill turn around in a parking lot as last restort like a wall mart, always wacth your tail, they never teach you that in trucking school, becuse they have there trl tadem slid all the way back, id say if you can go out and slide em foward, and practice with 2 cones on top each other and see how close you can get, if you can, thats how i got my cdl , they be all failing cause they be running over the curb, i asked why,so while she went to lunch , i went en slide em foward on her then i went same route and passed outa 6 drivers, its more danger with em slide all the way foward too, but they need too teach about tail swing,
Everett.

Oh, noooooo.....it couldn't possibly have been o/o. We all know that the second someone turns in those company keys and ponies up the 10K for running authority and a crappy old truck, they are instantly long-time pros deserving of our utmost respect. It couldn't possibly be that knothead who couldn't make it in a company and conned Uncle Edgar into loaning him some startup capitol, now could it?
Idiots come in all colors, shapes and sizes of trucks. Get over it.papa1953, Everett, statikuz and 1 other person Thank this. -
chompi Thanks this.

If he did get in an accident then he is definitely at fault and will get ticketed and most likely fired. He now has a u-turn citation on his MVR and a preventable. Most likely not going to be driving for awhile.
