The reason I ask this question is when I drove for Schneider years ago, they were an exclusive Wabash trailer company. Now, I notice a lot of brand new Great Dane, Stoughton ,and Hyundai trailers and no Wabash trailers. When I say new, I m referring to TA160 series and newer
Did Schneider stop buying Wabash trailers?

no, if it has wheels and it's orange, they'll buy it

We are mainly buying staughtons right now.
It came down to price point and available volume. Wabash has been very slow to expand its manufacturing capacity after getting burned really bad in 2008 and can't keep up with our needs and other customers. If you had a choice of lossing 9 smaller customers to keep 1 massive one, which would you chose? Wabash chose to have a diversified customer base, and Schneider decided to diversify our supplier so we will always have access to new equipment. So most of what we are getting are Staughtons, with some Wabashs, some Great Danes, and a few hyudani.bigkev1115 Thanks this. -
Which trailer brand do you all like the most out of all the newer brands that Schneider has?

the ernge ones

They are all speced the same, so there is very little difference. Does it have 6 sides with no holes, are there 8 legal tires, 4 brakes, and do the tandem pins work? Then I'm good.

Kind of like how many carriers who exclusively were freightliner now buy paccar, int'l, volvo etc...can't put all your eggs in one basket..frieghtliners attitude was also im sure part of it thinking they wouldn't buy other equipment and got ####y...serves them right..
bigkev1115 Thanks this.
