2016 VNL. I got hung a little on a snowy parking lot, so I tried to engage my axle lock, I noticed the diff lock light flashing, the interaxle lock is constant on, with switches on, goes off with switches off.
Had dealer check it, first issue was a seized-up piston inside the diff. They corrected it.
Took the truck, checked it later, diff lock light still flashing, back to dealer, needs wiring harness. They showed me the bad connector, so I ok'd it, they installed that.
    Diff lock still flashing!!
Shop foreman told me service writer told him that I said the light was coming on intermittently while driving.
I said no that's not the problem, and from now on I will speak directly to you!
Anyway, he said the flashing light is normal and how it's supposed to work
Is that correct? Is that how everyone else's lights work?
I did throw the switches and drove a little slowly and it is definitely working.

Well, a flashing light is never good, it usually indicates a warning. I always had older trucks that never did that, perhaps the new ones flash. With all the computer controls today, sounds like something wan't "cleared" electronically.

Actually one of Volvo better ideas (go figure) If engaged will let driver know by flashing instead of blending in with hundreds of other lights on dash that are on solid and may just trick your mind by blending in.

Maybe, I guess. The interaxle lock light stays steady, just the diff lock light blinks, they're side by side, and there really aren't many other lights to worry about.

Take apart wiring harness at the front diff. clean wiring connection.then check the condition of the wiring connection and then reinstall. See if it works to stop the lamp coming on.
