Firstly, we have recently started to require a Tanker endorsement. Thereason being is FMCSA started to requiretanker endorsement whenever drivers haul any kind of barrels or totes with liquid in the trailers. We can provide you with the CDL manual to study for the test. Since it is only a couple pages long, we hope it won't cause you a lot of trouble to obtain tanker endorsement.- Is not required to start with us.

Secondly, we require an Occupationaland Accidental Insurance. It is $140 per month and that covers up to a million dollars in medical expenses in case of an accident and a $300,000 life insurance policy. This will be deducted from the first paycheck of the month every month.

Also, all of our drivers at Carolina Logistics are Independent Contractors. This means that you will need to open an LLC (limited liability company) or other type of business. We do not take out your taxes so instead of a W-2 you will do a 10-99 at the end of the year. You will have 30 days once you start working for us to open up your LLC. We have someone in the company that can assist you with the opening of your LLC or you can do it at the secretary of state office.

In addition, as a new company driver you will need to pay Security Deposit(paid by all new company drivers). Security Deposits is deducted from the Driver’s payrolls - $100 per Settlement. $2,000 is a deductible for Damage purposes. If you leave the company, this money will be refunded within 45 days if no Damage or Policy violations were involved.

Sounds about right...sounds beautiful as a matter of a fact.

Davidajhamlin1983 is appsolutely correct you do what you got to do to pay the man! I received a ticket doing 22 over I was only doing 87 However the mountain of coming down was a 45 mph mountain. I had run out due to mechanical problem...or burnup! My licence was gone! No doubt my mind. My lawyer did a wonderful job and got dropped down to a careless driving ticket which is the lowest ticket you can get, it's like running over a curb. The problem that none of this knew was insurance companies treating the careless driving ticket like a reckless driving ticket. Yeah you'd thought I ran over a bus load of nuns!!! So for 3 yrs now I've been waiting, struggling to pay bills. I have 4 months till my 3 years are up and it falls off. But you know what I'm going to call that place tomorrow because I want to work! I can only eat so much road kill!!
