If I understand your question correctly
Companies use Dac and Dac lists what your company reports
DataQ relates to DOT inspections and what the results of the inspections were over last 2 yearsnextgentrucker and tscottme Thank this. -
Both companies are third party rating systems for drivers.
hireright/DAC has been around for a while, DriveriQ is more recent.
Both fall under the same FTC laws as do credit ratings.
I don’t know what the difference is, to me they are subjective at best but are abused a lot.
From a fleet owner’s perspective, they can be useful if one is lazy in their hiring practices.
Each system cost the owner/fleet money to use.
As I said, it is subjective and because of that, I do not, and many others do not trust them.
why does it appear on one but not the other?
because they don’t share info.
If your company uses DriveriQ and not DAC, then your record will appear on the former and not the latter.
Hope that helps.Walk Among Us, nextgentrucker and tscottme Thank this. -
It does help thank you..
The point of me asking is because I started with Schneider and they put 3 preventables on my driverIQ , I was under the assumption that goes on your dac .. I’ve went 6 months accident free at a new company so I pulled my dac and nothing was there other than dates and employment history.
Driver iq however had the accidents , I am job searching as I cannot get much miles here so I wanted to know if companies used dac or DriverIQ.nextgentrucker Thanks this. -
companies don't have to report anything, actually most don't use them.
the megas do.
I never worked for a company that used them in the over 35 yrs I drove -
I think it is important to remember that HOW a carrier complies with § 391.23 is up to the company. All the information that DAC et al has is what the carriers send to them. Same information that a carrier manually complying with 391.23 will get. I can not stress this enough. The use of DAC et al or not makes little to no difference when it comes to the DOT rules. If you did yank a stupid, that stupid is in the carrier's records regardless of whether they report to a 3rd party or not. When a carrier that does not use DAC goes through the hiring process, they are required BY DOT RULE to make those inquiries. If they find it, they will find it.
To answer the OP's question is easy. An answer ONLY for his question. DAC/Hireright, in this situation, does not have the source that Driveriq does. This is the thing with any database. The data is only as good as its source.
