I've seen Alot of American trailers in Liverpool , they come on the ACL ship from the states, mostly flatbeds, are they common there? Euroliners/ curtainsiders have mostly replaced them here, not many flatbeds here now because curtainsiders are so versatile ( also much easier in the rain! )

I haven't seen any us livestock trailers, do they have hydraulic or cable lift floors and roofs? And can they be used for dry freight also?

there are some uninsulated reffer trailers just normal curtain sider

there are some insulated but still looks like normal trailers

and there are trailers which are almost identical to normal reffers but with curtain on left right and top are fixed .....this is 2-3 inch thick curtain with insulation they are mainly produced by spainish manufactures

there are curtain sider trailers without agregate and refrigerator system but insulated looks like normal trailer but can hold temperature good

when you load freight at 4C or 39F in 24hours temperature will raise only for 1C or 1.8F , mainly used for flowers......

but when you say curtain sider you never know what trailer really is

no one would ever say that this one is tipper

Yup I've contemplated buying one of those, wish I had maybe loads home mightened be so difficult now, it's the best of both worlds! I've seen Alot if Spanish curtainside reefers, great for fruit and veg as well as dry freight, I maybe wrong but I think not so good for frozen

for walking floor there is one more important thing

    height!

in lot of warehouses you cant unload normally with tipper trailer i know for one case few years ago when truck driver died because of low building he hit trailer to beam on roof and building collapse

also since bulk load is light walking floor have lower height(from ground to trailer floor) and it makes it easier to drive

also most of tipper trailers are shorter than walking floor so walking floor is lot more stable

    also it is lighter

you can find benalu walking floor 92m3 far below 7t

it is very hard to find tipper trailer with 70m3 below 7t

also need to mention that lot of walking floor trailers have doors on side so it is also possible to load long loads like pipes, profiles , planks in them

we love here to use grain tippers ( 2-3side tipper body) with pallet wide and curtain side it is very flexible to use but little bit heavy and expensive

this one is very interesting combination of BDF bodies and grain tipper truck so it is very flexible you can load lot of things even 20ft containers
