I'm not surprised you don't know anyone how can't reverse that thing other than straight, at least if I look how the east block stars that come over here drive. When you reverse straight you don't need to move the wheels from side to side suck..

It's not any different than to reverse any other 25,25 combination once you get used to the wall the trailer builds some times. I have only about 3000km behind one but yes, you have to steer it to get it backed up to our home terminal (not the company in the picture, that just some pic I found on the net), over 90 degrees to be correct

Btw, the winter is here: had to wait 1½h today in a hill, estonian driver didn't understand that he might need chains to his 2 axel truck (he was loaded with fish so maybe 20t). (thanks to that had to use chains myself, normally I would just but about 15t pressure on the drive and climb the hill, totaltweight 52,5t 3 axel truck + walkingfloor trailer)

Sorry I might pick but they have never made a good impression on me, please change it :)

Truck (you mean 7,9m or what are they?) + 2axel center are very nice combination, popular in Norway to. Of course nothing beats the 3 axel (one in front 2 in the rear) for nimbleness, so fun to drive.

That looks like something my workshop would do if I didn't stop them.
From what I can tell all they have done is remove the cab from a COE.
Use the rear of the station wagon to go over the engine and move the controls to the front of the station wagon.
Used where loads have long front overhangs at frame height.
Probably a lot cheaper then a purpose built from Nicolas, Faun or OAF.
I think its cool , ugly as ####e but cool.

seems to me they did it to let trucktor push trailer. Cab is so low that tructor may turn under trailer

Baffels are illegal here in all food grade tankers (a cleaning issue). Most all chemical tanks are smooth bore unless it is hauling a dedicated product but that is rare. All of the petroulem tankers we use are either baffeled or have multi-compartments.
The chemical tanks my company uses are all mostly 7400 gallon us capacity.

The pic here is a insulated hot product trailer we use to haul resin at around 380 degrees Fn.

truck could accept BDF body on top of it or longer semitrailer i have to find images .....

reason is to get more space for load and better maneuverability , i have seen few US trucks from new zeland on same way i think they were western star

    ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

here would be illegal to run trailer with just one compartment because of stability for liquids

things like bitumen is hauled in single compartment trailers

how to perform this in small place with such differences in ratio of wheelbases?

i can see mainly people do this

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0KwuMRAE24&feature=channel_video_title[/ame]

here we get good drivers comparing to east european countries , during winter roads are not perfectly cleaned(especially in last few years due to crisis so they know how to drive on snow ....

also since we have lot of technically incorrect trucks , overloads bad tires bad roads and lot of working hours(3tacho plate is almost normal) there is not too many accidents

but problems are drivers who used to be in different professions and they drive just because they had to but dont have clue about driving that is problem in east europe .....

my father drive from 1968 until today he have no any accidents

he used to drive everything from new trucks to big crap

    loads were huge

somewhere from 1980-1990 he used to drive 6x4 mercedes with 3axle drawbar tipper trailer gross weight were 90+ tons

he used to be driver and owner operator in germany but he get back in 1974

    ....

our trucks used to drive salt for roads , so they have priority on roads usually here if roads are with snow police dont allow to pass on critical parts of hills (that can least for 2-3days)

our trucks were rarely excluded from road

they have be allowed to drive even on sundays

they used to load from 33-40ton of salt most trucks were 15-16ton empty so that is up to 56t

my father used chains only once because police required that and put only right one and he dont know how to put it and put it on opposite and chain broke....

so he says that he need only good michelin tires ( summer at that moment no one know for winter ones)

we are now starting to use more and more M+S tires because of germany and austria

they used to drive lot of hours because of big demand for salt and in other direction they were loaded with grain

and there is one funny fact about him

he dont know to reverse semitrailer and centralaxle

he says real men should drive drawbar , once he and his group had to reverse it for 3km they were on one small narrow country road and there was no space for turn , also once he broke wooden bridge in one village and his group had to drive 6kmk in reverse ....

i have uncle(brother of my father) he better drive truck+drawbar trailer in reverse than forward he can go anywhere in reverse

....no no like you say for norway but truck and 2 trailers with centralaxle

So long answer so I'm not quoting:

"how to perform this in small place with such differences in ratio of wheelbases?" If you can drive it forward you can reverse it. Don't know how to explain it

Ok, wish they would come here the instead of this stars we get.
