lol I thought people would think I was goofy but this is how I’ve been doing it since I started. Didn’t much see the point in buying a grease gun when I could just tap it all out where I needed it. I’ll throw on a splash of oil if it’s getting a little dry or firm from the cold

I'm currently running a slick disc. It was like $25.? Brand new Fontaine 7000 top plate, & a never greased trailer apron. Seemed like the best time to try one out. Seems to be working good so far..
The only thing is I take extra care while coupling & uncoupling so I don't wrinkle the disc. No dump switch on my tractor, so I crank the gear till I see daylight, then pull off. When coupling, I get pin about 3" away from jaw, raise the gear till the 5th wheel levels out, then bump the pin..
Think I'm going to get one of the Minimizer slick plates that attaches to the trailer apron in the future.. -
