As a new driver (not yet) What write offs or deductions do drivers have? School?? food on the road? Fridge, hot box? Anything different than a mainstream job. IE a 9-5er?

Simply ask yourself if the item your are questioning is 'ordinary and nescessary' for the job you do. If it is then it's a tax deduction. Regular clothing is NOT but steel toe boots, wet weather gear, gloves and reflective clothing is. Per Diem takes care of your meals and living expenses on the road and is normally the largest single deduction you can take as a company driver. You need copies of your logs to support you Per Diem deduction.

Be prepared. On an audit, the agent disallowed those items except for the steel toed boots.
    They are now in appeal.
