I actually broke out on a 5x4 Marmon. I'm not opposed to them at all. But for $41k? I'm waiting.
Here's the plan:
A) Prices come down, and I buy a truck.
B) My engine blows up, and I buy a truck.pete781693, Dadetrucking305, Crude Truckin' and 9 others Thank this. -

Here’s my ancient Mercury Sleeper Cab Model 60/74.
Built 1975 for one of my Uncles ‘74 359’s. I stripped it down a few years ago and lost interest but
I’m gonna get it sanded and polished one day and put it on the ‘67 351 someday. The ‘67 needs to grow up a little more first for it to fit comfortably. Maybe just 12 more inches. Lol.
48” would fit better.
60” was a big house back then.Dadetrucking305, Sirscrapntruckalot, D.Tibbitt and 11 others Thank this. -
Yep. Aerodyne came out around 1995 maybe? First integrated Kw. Pete called it Unibilt
There used to be a Company called Eagle Custom Sleepers. Also ICT. ( I think that’s right, there also was another, Cant recall their name) All in Indiana, around the Camper factories. Ones out of Business now. Smallest ones Ive seen were 110”. 120” is more common. They’ll build you anything you want. Pricey. Bedbuggers often have them. Most seem to trade often. Usually have low miles for the age, and very well maintained. North American in Ft. Wayne used to be a good place to find one from an O/O trading up. The newer Integrated Factory Cab/Sleepers started with Volvo around 1984-1985. Later Freightliner, around 1989-1990. One piece design, no DOT required side door on sleeper. Cheaper to make. Cheaper to buy. The downside was resale. Less of a market available, since it couldn’t easily be converted to a day cab, for a second Life for Local Work. Paccar finally jumped in with the Pete Unibilt, and KW aerodyne. Still all available in flat top, mid roof or high roof. Conversion kits are available now, at least for Freightliner. They opened up a Factory in NC, specifically for converting Repo Road Trucks into Day Cabs, Opened up around 2001-2002. They would install new interiors, change fluids and? Selling them to LTL Companies. Bottom line, if you want a big House as they’re called. You’ll need to find a 1994 or older, with a bolt on sleeper. Minimum 270” WB maybe, or stretch it out. Better chance of finding a nice Day Cab, whatever year or model you want. Have it stretched, cut a big hole in the back wall, then add the Big House. I passed up a 98 Pete, couple yrs ago. A neighbor of mine, retiring O/O, from Reliable ( Orange). Cat, 18 spd. 110” Sleeper. $38k. It was beautiful. Should have bought it. Had everything I could possibly want. “Condo” is just Freightliner marketing for high roof integrated Cab/Sleeper. Available in 60”, more commonly 72” and so called limited edition 84” Bunks,Sirscrapntruckalot, Gatordude, shooter19802003 and 1 other person Thank this.
